Our enrollment process is completely self-paced. Your initial application is held for up to one year from submission, allowing you to complete your steps in a matter of days or months based on your schedule.

Assemble Files for Upload

  • Gather Foundational Evidence: Assemble documentation supporting your Foundational Understanding of Midwifery (course certificates, syllabi, resume/CV, book titles, or web resources).
  • OBAP Worksheet (If Applicable): If utilizing the Alternative Pathway to verify your background, download and complete the OBAP Worksheet Template.
  • Transfer Credit Evidence: Gathering explicit course descriptions, syllabi, training licenses (like IBCLC certifications), and clinical logs complete with supervisor signatures.

We are currently unable to accept applications from students in certain states. Prior to applying, you must review our Prerequisite & State Requirements. Moving to an unauthorized state will prevent you from continuing your tracks.

⏱️ Important Form System Notice: One-Sitting Only

Our online application does not support saving progress or returning later. You must have all written responses and PDF files prepared ahead of time to finish the form in a single continuous sitting.

General Application Fee Required

Applies to all new applicants. Covers standard file configuration, baseline admissions review, and administrative portal placement parameters.

Academic Transfer and/or Advanced Placement Fee

Required only if you are requesting transfer credit of academics or advanced placement evaluation for prior midwifery study.

Required only if you are requesting an transfer credit evaluation or advanced placement evaluation for prior clinical experiences.

The Admission & Enrollment Process

From your initial reading to your first day in the Student Portal, here is exactly what to expect:

Read Guidelines

Review the Application Guide closely to confirm you have gathered all necessary materials and prerequisite documentation.

Submit Application

Complete the extensive online application form and process your calculated payment. Fast-track this phase by preparing records ahead of time.

Admissions Interview

Once your file and transcripts are reviewed, you will receive a link to schedule a deep-dive interview with an NMI Director to discuss tracks and transfer credits.

Enrollment Offer

Approved applicants receive a formal Offer of Enrollment. To accept, you will complete an Enrollment Agreement and submit a $150 fee along with your first month's tuition.

Portal Access

Once your agreement and processing fees are cleared, you receive formal enrollment confirmation and immediate access to the online Student Portal.
