Funding your Education

Federal Aid

The National Midwifery Institute does not have any financial aid or student loans available at this time. NMI is not a Title IV school. NMI students are not eligible for federal financial aid or student loan deferment. 

Student Loans

Students may apply for a private student loan with Meritize if they desire. NMI accepts Meritize loans for tuition.

Scholarships

NMI may, from time to time, offer scholarships to NMI students. These will be announced to students directly.

Center for Online Education: Financial Aid for Minorities
The Center for Online Education seeks to connect minority students with financial aid by providing scholarship and financial aid education and resources specifically developed for minorities and Hispanic students.

NACPM Bigger Table Fund for NARM Exam and Licensing Fees
NACPM’s Bigger Table Fund will provide scholarships for student midwives of color, indigenous and/or LGBTQ student midwives for the initial NARM examination fee, the fee for retaking the NARM examination when needed, and state licensure fees.  Funds will be distributed quarterly, according to a lottery system, with $3,000 available per cycle. The maximum individual award is $1,000.  We invite you to apply to the Bigger Table Fund. You also can access the application on the NACPM website.
