How to Apply

Applications are completed online using our Student Application Portal.
Before you create an account review our States Permission to Operate. If NMI does not have permission to operate in your state, STOP HERE. We cannot enroll students in states where we do not have permission to operate.
Fee note: $75 (U.S.) nonrefundable application fee. If applying for advanced placement or transfer credit this fee will include an additional $150 fee.
National Midwifery Institute offers open enrollment year-round; applicants may apply and enroll at any time. There are no deadlines to submit an application.
The enrollment process is self-paced; applications are held for a year and enrollment may be completed in a matter of days or months, depending on the applicant’s preference.
Application Requirements
Share your high school/secondary school information.
Request Official High School Transcripts or degree equivalency documents be sent to NMI directly from the school issuing the transcript.
Transcripts can be emailed to nmioffice@nationalmidwiferyinstitute.com or mailed to our address.
Prepare supporting documentation for pre-requisites.
gather Heart & Hands Certificate.
gather any certificates, course syllabus, or training you would like considered for the Objectives Based Alternative Pathway Pre-requisite Worksheet.
Students Applying for Transfer Credit or Advanced Placement:
submit all transcripts which include credit you’d like NMI to review.
gather course descriptions and syllabi for coursework you would like reviewed for transfer credit.
gather any relevant training, licenses, or course completion certifications you would like evaluated for academic experience (such as ICBLC certificate)
gather all clinical experience documentation - must include signature confirmation from a qualified preceptor. Many students use the NARM PEP forms, for example, (Observe) (Assist) (Primary).
